Symposium

Quotation Wikipedia: An academic conference or scientific conference (also: symposium, workshop, meeting, etc.) is a event for researchers (not necessarily academics) to present and discuss their work. Together with academic or scientific journals, conferences provide an important channel for exchange of information between researchers.

In our case: A part of VIScon where many different speakers from companies and researchers visit us to talk about their current research or work. There will be many different talks spread over the day.

The VIScon Symposium will take place on October 21st 2023, in the HG building at ETH (Rämistrasse 101, 8006 Zurich).

Tickets cost: 10 CHF

I am an ETH student: You can pay online when signing up to the symposium. The registration webpage is here . You will also find registrations for escape room and other related events on the vis event website . Stay tuned!

I am a student of another university: If your university does account managing through SWITCH EduID, you can just log in at the sign up page and sign up like everybode else.

None of the above applies to me: You can create a new EduID account here and use it to sign up.

We are going to have four tracks: Computer Science, Interdisciplinary, Security and the Entrepreneurship Track.

• The Technical Computer Science track will cover up-to-date subjects. You should bring some interest in this subject and computer science.
• The Interdisciplinary track is supposed to target people from other fields of study that are interested in Computer Science. Also, it could be interesting for Computer Science students from lower semesters that don't have such a big CS knowledge yet. (little CS knowledge required)
• The Security track will focus on going deeper into everything regarding Security
• The Entrepreneurship track covers success and other entrepreneurial stories. (no CS knowledge required)

Of course there will be goodies! Everyone will get a goodie bag, but it wouldn't be fun if I already told you what you will find in it, would it?
